Beecher Family Photos

I took pictures of the Beecher Family tonight at Layton Park. It was both challenging and fun. Toddlers are fun to photograph on their own and extremely difficult in Family Photos. I think we got some good ones though. These are just a few. Click on the picture to enlarge.

The Birthday Witch!
Check out Captain Mark Sparrow and Witchy Glam Gal!
Love the purple highlights!
See the cute clown in the middle! We made her jacket out of odds and ends from home.
A Boooootiful crew of cousins!
Costume Cost: $4.00- Wig $3.00 Felt Flowers $1.00
Costume Cost: $2.00 for the witch hat. I made the dress years ago for my oldest daughter.
It is made from a dress that I got at a garage sale. I cut the front out of it and added the halloween skirt under it and sewed on the cute halloween patches.
Costume Cost $1.00- Patch, knife and hook set from the dollar store. I looked for a hat but couldn't find one we liked. My son liked the bandanna better anyway.

The kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes and we went to Dinosaur Park in Ogden for a birthday party. They have a special event where you go trick or treating through out the park. The kids had fun and loved being with their cousins! Here are a few of many cute pictures!

Happy Birthday Dad!!

60! Happy Birthday to You!

YO HO HO HO! A Pirate's Life for Me!

My kids love to play pirates. My son is going to be a pirate for Halloween this year. I wish we had his costume with us. It would have been really fun to have pictures of him on the ship in his costume! They all three had a blast playing on the pirate ship at the pumpkin patch!

Our Favorite Pumpkin Patch

Engh Floral on 7th East in Sandy has an awesome Pumpkin Patch! They have tons of different kinds of pumpkins, a maze, spooky displays and a pirate ship! We go almost every year!

Funky Pumpkins

Turban Gourds
Look at those teeny tiny white pumpkins! I love the striped ones too!
Here are a whole collection of gourds. Look at the interesting colors, shapes and textures!

Second Grade Field Trip

The Second Grade had a great field trip today. They walked to the West Point City Building to meet Mayor Petroff. The Mayor taught the kids a little bit about his job and about the jobs in the community. He called kids up to sit on the City Council bench and put different hats or clothes on them that represented different community services. He told the kids about the fire department, the police department, the crossing guards, the public works department and the parks and recreation department. The kids seemed to enjoy it and some of them had some good questions. At the end of the presentation Mayor Petroff asked the kids who owns our city. A lot of the kids thought it was the Mayor or the President. He taught them that the community belongs to all of us becasue we are a government of the people and for the people. When I asked my daughter what she learned at the field trip she said that she learned that we all own the community.
