January 28th

I loved this picture from my daughter's birthday party. I didn't have a lot of time to take pictures during the party so my friend took some for me. I took this one at the very end of the party. I loved the look on their faces. What a cute picture of two little girls having fun.

January 17th

Our real estate agent had us watch a video on how to make your home a product that people want to buy. One of the things that she told us was that we should "face" all of our items in our pantry and cupboards. That just means that all of the labels should face forward and like items should be together. Here is my pantry after facing it. The trick will be keeping it that way for when people come to see the house. I intended on having this blog be a way of making me practice my photography but lately I've just been taking pictures of other big projects I'm doing. I need to work on remembering to take some time to enjoy during the day and take more fun pictures of my kids and stuff.

January 16th

Does anyone want to buy my house? It's for sale! Here are some pictures of the main living areas. I had to take some pictures to remember our house while it is very clean and uncluttered. I've been cleaning like a mad woman for the past two days!

This is the kind of picture you get when you wait until 11 PM to take one. I followed my husband into the bathroom and caught him brushing his teeth. He is always more than willing to goof off in front of the camera. This picture is his reflection in the bathroom mirror. I did use flash but I was standing close to the wall so the flash hit the wall instead of bouncing into the mirror.

January 13th

Look what I bought today! Mom and Dad gave me some fun money for Christmas. I bought the Cricut and 2 cartriges and some tools. I can't wait to try it out!

January 12th

Here are some wonderful pictures of my friend's newborn son. He is only 3 weeks old. We took these pictures around 3 in the afternoon near big window with no flash.

January 11th

Posting a photo a day is going to take some effort. We had a super busy day today going to buy a new van and I almost forgot. My husband challenged me to go out to the garage and try to take a creative picture of the van. There isn't much light in the garage at night though. So... this is what I came up with. I decided to take a few pictures getting really close up. I liked the texture of the pineapple picture.

January 10th

Here is a picture of our daughter playing makeover with her grandma. Grandma came over to fix her hair after she cut it herself. They decided to cut about 5 inches off of her long hair. She was absolutely thrilled with the result. This picture was taken with no flash. I wanted to capture them and the reflection in the mirror.

This day almost got away from me without a photo. Here is an update on the snowman in the back yard.

I took this picture today at 4:41 PM. I was trying to use the evening light coming into the kitchen to capture her pretty green eyes. I really wanted to draw attention to the eyes. I tried a few different settings on my camera. This picture was taken with the macro setting. It's fun experimenting.

Zeke's Coat

Mom pointed out that I still needed to post some pics to make up for lost days. So... here is a picture of my little brother Zeke wearing his "pheasant" coat. He went to the fabric district in Los Angeles and chose this fabric himself and had this coat made. Only he could get away with such outrageous fashion! All evening while touring temple square he recieved compliments on his coat.

January 7th

I was looking out the kitchen window and I loved the way the kids' snowman looked in the backyard. The lighting was really nice. I grabbed my camera to take the picture of the day. This one was taken with my telephoto lens and I was standing on the deck looking down. I liked the angle and lighting.

These are a few of my very favorite pictures I took on Thursday, Jan. 4th. (I posted a few extra to make up for lost days. The kids had a ball playing in the snow and making a snowman. I tried to get some
action shots.

January 3rd

This picture was taken on Jan 3rd at the Reflections Contest Awards Night. Our talented little artist won an award in the visual arts category with a picture that she drew of her classroom. It was a great night.
